August 18, 2011.  USS Ouellet FF-1077 caps are available for purchase. 

Cost is $20.00 with a portion going to the Sea Cadet Award program.

USS Ouellet Association 2011 Reunion July 21-24, 2011. 

Former USS Ouellet (DE/FF-1077) sailors gathered in New Orleans for the second ship crew reunion. Shipmates from 1970 to decommissioning in 1993 were in attendance, including Ouellet's first Commanding Officer Albert Luther Henry Jr.

 
Events included local tours, buffet dinners, and a Mississippi River cruise. Videos, photos, and sea stories were shared and exchanged. Crew members honored Seaman David George Ouellet for his heroism as forward machine gunner on River Patrol Boat 124.

 
Gaining in popularity, San Diego was selected as the location for the next reunion to be held in Summer 2013.
 

June 1, 2011.  The USS Ouellet Association establishes a Sea Cadet Awards program.  The USS Ouellet Association is now sponsoring two Sea Cadet awards in honor of Seaman David Ouellet.   Beginning in July 2011 an Honor Graduate award and a Spirit award will be presented to two deserving graduates of the New England Naval Sea Cadet Recruit Training program.  These monetary awards will defray the winners' expenses in attending the boot camp.  Further information on this program can be found on the Sea Cadet Award pages.
